The site has been reformatted to accomodate ancestry trees and countless photos.

I have removed the "Photo Pages" sidebar because there are simply too many photos coming to make a page for each. I have instead begun compiling photos into individual (and group - tentative) family member pages. The new pages are linked in the drop-down menu "Generations."

There is a new link above: Family Tree Pages. This will open a new window and take you to the family tree portion of the site. I still need a GEDCOM file to upload, so everything is empty right now, but it is on the way. Please sign up to contribute. New users must be approved.

Any input on better navigation, including link names, hierarchy, etc. is welcome.

As I restore more photos, I am recognizing faces in photos that are named and will be able to put names to the unnamed in other photos.

Chris printed out all of the restored versions onto 4 X 6 photo paper, and they all look pretty decent - some of them, exceptional. A few of them, at least on our printer, seem to need a little more contrast, so I will work to correct that.

Also, since seeing them printed, I now know how to fix some of the problems I had not yet figured out from just seeing them on screen, so I will be working on those, as well.

I was thinking about changing the main (top) menu. It seems redundant (and 5 times redundant for me to copy and paste links) to use that menu to link to things that are already linked to in the individual photo pages.

I was thinking about maybe adding a history link (which Mom can help with - and all of us can, to a degree), and perhaps a forum to discuss things like family reunions, and a genealogy link, and maybe offshoots of the family, i.e. Dolbeare, Andrus, Vandiver, etc..

As you can see, the website is a forever work in progress. Web design is "my true love," I guess you could say.

Since the number of files continues to grow, I have notice that I am using a large amount of space on the server. Since having high resolution images and corresponding .zip files is redundant, I have opted to remove the high res images to reduce my usage. Those images can be downloaded via .zip files.

I have also reduced the size of the original scans to low resolution for web viewing. I still have copies of the high resolution versions on my computer, in case there is a need/desire for them.

I've implemented the new format, so I can get back to working on restoring photos.

Also, I was thinking about changing the format of the site to be more organized now that it is growing. The links above will go to separate pages, and there will be a list on this page (perhaps as a side menu) of links to each photo and its dedicated page. Each page will then contain links to the various formats and resolutions for that particular photograph. sample

I've spent more time with some of the photos I had already restored. I wasn't happy with how dark and hazy some of them still were. I have also added a section for uncropped restorations to keep with the look and feel of the original presentations.

Got the new scanner today. I am fairly pleased with the details that it picks up.

Anyway, I have uploaded two more photos. I have also included zip files in case those are easier to work with.
